On October 19th, the 2nd Plenary Session of the 5th Council of Hubei Yan'an Spirit Research Association and the Theoretical Symposium on "Carrying Forward Yan'an Spirit and Dabie Mountains Spirit to Promote Hubei's Pivotal Construction", hosted by Hubei Yan'an Spirit Research Association and undertaken by our college, was held at our university. Liu Aiguo, Secretary of the Party Group and Executive Vice Chairman of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, and president of the Yan'an Spirit Research Association, Xu Wei, the member of the Party Group and Secretary General of the Hubei Provincial Federation of Social Sciences, and Xu Yeqin, Secretary of the Party Committee of the university, attended the meeting. Representatives from Yan'an Spirit Research Associations in Hubei Province and various cities and counties, as well as more than 150 teachers and students from our university, including Li Haibo, Qu Xiaolin, Yang Jinzhou, Yan Zhanding, attended the meeting.

The opening ceremony of the conference was presided over by Wen Qingsong, Executive Vice President of the Yan'an Spirit Research Association of the province. In his speech, Xu Yeqin pointed out that the red gene is the spiritual core of the people of the CPC, the revolutionary spirit is an inexhaustible driving force to forge the nation forward, the Yan'an spirit and the Dabie Mountain spirit are the spiritual symbols of the Chinese revolutionary cause, the source of strength to promote the construction of Hubei fulcrum, and the spiritual power to promote the high-quality development of schools. The school always adheres to the main line of focusing on forging a sense of community for the Chinese nation, and strives to deeply integrate the Yan'an spirit and other aspects into talent cultivation, discipline construction, and social services. In his speech, Liu Aiguo emphasized that the Yan'an Spirit and the Dabie Mountains Spirit have a deep connection and bloodline, jointly building the solid foundation of the Hubei Spirit. We need to combine the promotion of Yan'an spirit with the promotion of the three major spirits, deepen theoretical research, innovate propaganda and popularization, promote the transformation of achievements, guide inheritance and practice, promote revolutionary culture and red spirit to infiltrate people's hearts and gather strength in the land of Jingchu, and provide strong spiritual strength for accelerating the construction of an important strategic pivot for the rise of the central region.

Yu Chunli, Vice President of the Yan'an Spirit Research Association, presided over the academic presentation session. Five experts including Professor Song Jian of Wuhan University, Professor Du Zhizhang of Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Song Jian, chief expert of Yan'an Spirit Research Center of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law, Professor Wang Jishi and Professor Chen Lijun of Huanggang Normal University, focused on the theme of Yan'an Spirit and Dabie Mountain Spirit and their contemporary value, with Yan'an Spirit and Mao Zedong Spirit - the logo of the revolutionary spirit of the CPC in the revolutionary era, the contemporary enlightenment of "Yan'an Style defeats Xi'an Style", the impact of the research activity "from Dabie Mountain to Baota Mountain" on deepening the ideological and political education in universities, bearing in mind the guidance of the General Secretary, carrying forward the spirit of Dabie Mountain, and the research on the strategy and countermeasures of the integration and innovative development of red culture and tourism - Take Huanggang City as an example to carry out academic exchanges.

The symposium held at our university fully reflects the full recognition of the Red Culture Research of our university by the Provincial Social Science Federation and the Yan'an Spirit Research Association, and the high importance attached to the construction of Marxist theory discipline in our university. Taking this opportunity, our college will further highlight its disciplinary characteristics, deepen theoretical research, practice the red spirit, improve its service ability, and make new and greater contributions to create the chapter of Chinese path to modernization in Hubei.
